About the Initiative
Aiming to provide equal educational opportunities for children from all backgrounds, the Samsung Smart Class initiative in India has supported over 200,000 students across almost 400 JNV schools in rural India. Additionally, the program has equipped over 7,400 teachers on how to utilize interactive technology tools to better engage with students and improve the educational experience.
According to feedback from teachers of JNV schools, since the implementation of Samsung Smart Class, educators have seen the benefits of increased student attention in classrooms, reduced absenteeism and increased student familiarity and comfort with technology such as smart boards and tablets.
Samsung’s cooperation with the JNV schools, which are operated by the Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development, is now in its fourth year. Complementing and supporting other Indian government initiatives such as Digital India and Skill India, Samsung is excited about ongoing opportunities to make a difference in the lives of people in a country it is deeply committed to.
